Inspections You Can Rely On
Buying or owning a home is a big deal—and understanding its true condition is key to feeling confident about your investment. My home inspections offer a careful, non-invasive look at the visible and accessible areas of your home, both inside and out. I take the time to inspect all major systems and components, including the roof, exterior, foundation, basement or crawlspace, interior, HVAC, plumbing, attic, insulation, ventilation, and electrical systems. I love helping homeowners get to know their homes better, which is why I always invite you to join me during the inspection. Together, we’ll walk through the property, discuss what I find, and go over any questions you may have. My goal is to make sure you leave with a clear, confident understanding of your home’s condition. After the inspection, you’ll receive a detailed, easy-to-read report outlining my findings, including any material defects or safety concerns. The report reflects the home’s condition on the day of the inspection and may include helpful recommendations for monitoring, repair, or replacement—so you can plan your next steps with peace of mind.
Thorough
My home inspections usually take about two to three hours on-site, depending on the size and condition of the home. Some inspectors here in Maine might show up with just a flashlight, breeze through in 45 minutes, and hand you a few pages of a handwritten checklist before heading to their next job. That’s not how I work. I only book one inspection per day so I can focus entirely on you and your home. After the inspection, I head back to my office to go through all the photos and videos—usually between 250 and 450 of them. I review and edit everything, then choose the most important visuals to include in your report. The finished report is clear, detailed, and easy to read, averaging around 45 pages. Experienced
I am a Certified Master Inspector® and a proud member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI). Since beginning my inspection business in 2013, I’ve been committed to providing thorough, honest, and high-quality home inspections. I participate in InterNACHI’s Buy-Back Guarantee Program and strictly adhere to their Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Fully insured and bonded, I operate as an independent home inspector, working solely for you to deliver an unbiased inspection performed with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
Quality
For me, a home inspection isn’t just about checking boxes—it’s about giving you confidence and clarity as you make one of the biggest decisions of your life. I’ve been in business for over 12 years and am proud to be a Certified Master Inspector. Over that time, I’ve earned nothing but 5-star reviews, which I believe speaks to the care, time, and attention I put into every inspection. My goal isn’t just to find issues—it’s to help you understand your home inside and out. I take the time to walk you through what I see, explain how systems work, and answer every question you have (and probably a few you didn’t know to ask!). Each inspection is a detailed, hands-on process focused entirely on quality and client satisfaction. I never rush through your property or cut corners. You deserve a thorough, thoughtful inspection—and that’s exactly what I deliver.
About Me.
Hello and Welcome! Thank you for stopping by to learn more about me. My name is Timothy J. Bright, and I’m a Certified Master Inspector® with extensive experience in home inspections. Since 2013, I’ve been helping families across Maine make confident decisions about their homes. I’ve completed over 1,000 inspections, hundreds of hours of continuing education, and operate under the Master Inspector Certification Board’s strict Code of Ethics, including passing a criminal background check. As a Maine native, I take pride in calling this beautiful state my home, and I’m thrilled to help you make it yours. Maine is truly one of a kind, and one of the best parts of my job is getting to meet new people while exploring every corner of our great state. When I’m not inspecting homes, I enjoy time with my wife and our two children, as well as our dogs, Murphy (a Labrador) and Duffy (a Boston Terrier). I love being outdoors and taking full advantage of everything Maine has to offer. Before becoming a home inspector, I served as an interior-certified firefighter and fire inspector in Bridgton. It was a challenging and rewarding experience, and I encourage anyone interested in serving their community to get involved—there are many roles beyond interior firefighting, including fire police and support positions. My qualifications in the building industry span over 15 years, including five years as a facilities maintenance technician for Maine’s largest commercial building, as well as owning a small general contracting business. I learned much of what I know from working alongside my father, a master carpenter who built custom homes and furniture. I sadly lost him in 2022; he was a US Army veteran, SSGT, K-9 handler, and MP. His dedication and craftsmanship continue to inspire me every day. I became a Certified Master Inspector® and am a proud member of InterNACHI, the largest home inspection association in the world. Since Maine does not license home inspectors, it’s especially important to ensure your inspector is a Certified Master Inspector® in good standing. One of the main reasons I became a home inspector is to help people make informed decisions during one of the most exciting times of their lives. Early in my career, I witnessed inspectors who weren’t fully prepared, and I knew I could do better. I bring thoroughness, professionalism, and care to every inspection, because I know how stressful real estate transactions can be. My goal is for you to leave your inspection feeling confident that you made the right decision for you and your family. Thank you for considering me for your home inspection needs. I am invested in your best interests and look forward to helping you confidently navigate your home journey.
